ANSC 3921 - Mechanisms of Animal Growth and Development Lab Spring. 1 credit. Letter grades only.
Prerequisites: ANSC 1100 –ANSC 1160 or equivalent introductory physiology courses.

A complementary course to ANSC 3920 (Mechanisms of Animal Growth and Development). This laboratory course provides experience in animal genotyping, generation and expression of transgenes, hormone-stimulated cell growth, and metabolism of cells and the whole animal. Techniques used in this course include genomic DNA isolation, PCR and electrophoresis, vectors, DNA ligation and transformation, gene expression, immunohistochemistry, and glucose and insulin tolerance tests.
