CHEM 2080 - General Chemistry

Spring, summer. 4 credits. Letter grades only.

Forbidden Overlap: Students may not receive credit for both CHEM 2080 and CHEM 2150. CHEM 2070 (or CHEM 2090) is a prerequisite for CHEM 2080. (CHEM 1560 is accepted, but not recommended.) Taking CHEM 2080 after CHEM 2150 may be done only by permission of the director of undergraduate studies. Students without a prior chemistry lab course (CHEM 2070 or CHEM 2090), will be charged a $20 nonrefundable lab fee that covers the cost of safety goggles, lab apron, and breakage. Students who have advanced placement credit for CHEM 2070 or CHEM 2090 may also receive credit for Chem 2080 by demonstrating competence on the departmental examination given at Cornell before classes start in the fall.
