Treats the development of tantric traditions in the Indian subcontinent and beyond. Discusses philosophical, socio-religious, cultic, and visionary dimensions of tantra in different Hindu and Indo-Tibetan traditions, with some attention also paid to tantric developments in East Asian Buddhism. (RL)
