MAE 6240 - Physics of Micro and Nanoscale Fluid Mechanics(crosslisted) (also CHEME 6240 ) Fall. 4 credits.
Prerequisite: undergraduate fluid or continuum mechanics (e.g., MAE 3230 ) or permission of instructor. Co-meets with MAE 5240 ; includes additional 1-credit design project. Graduate version of MAE 5240 .

Introduction to fluid mechanics in micro- and nanofabricated devices. Physicochemical hydrodynamics, electrokinetic effects, capillarity, continuum breakdown, micro- and nanofluidic applications in chemistry and life sciences.
