HADM 4271 - Investment in Real Estate Securities and Funds


     
Fall, Spring. 3 credits. Letter grades only.

Prerequisite: HADM 4280  or HADM 6280  (which can be taken concurrently), or equivalent coursework and securities investment experience. Co-meets with HADM 6271 . Elective. Enrollment limited to 50 students. Graduate students must enroll in HADM 6271 .  Instructor has an early drop deadline: 2 weeks after the class begins.

This course focuses on equity investment in commercial real estate through indirect vehicles. The course builds on standard investment and corporate finance concepts. The high-level learning objectives are to familiarize students with indirect real estate investment and to introduce the analytical tools required to value the firms in that sector.
