Course fee: required field trip to NYC for November hotel show approx: $200. Enrollment limited to: SHA juniors and seniors who have been selected to be on the HEC Board of Directors. Elective.

The HEC Board of Directors are responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling the weekend-long HEC conference to be held March 14 - 17, 2019. HEC’s mission is to “Showcase Hospitality Education Through Student Leadership.” For 90-plus years, HEC has been an essential part of the Cornell Hotel School, allowing students the opportunity to put theory into practice while taking on the leadership responsibility for this student-run hospitality showcase. Board members receive credit for their participation in HEC: 3 hotel elective credits in the fall and 3 free elective credits in the spring.

Students interested in running for board positions in the spring must be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Eligibility requirements for specific board positions can be obtained from the HEC Office (G75 Statler Hall) and will be distributed to the student body. Students interested in a board position are encouraged to discuss their intentions with the HEC course instructor.
