ILRID 5680 - Labor and Employment Law/Policy

This course examines employment and labor law. It covers the common law of employment, employment discrimination law, labor law, and employment standards law. Classes will combine an examination of statutes with discussion of the application of the law to industrial relations and human resources in the workplace. The course will assume no prior legal training or education. The emphasis will be on developing an understanding of both the law of employment and the role of law in labor relations and human resource management.
