HADM 1740 - Business Computing Fall, Spring. 3 credits. Letter grades only (no audit).
Forbidden Overlap: due to an overlap in content, students will receive credit for only one course in the following group: HADM 1740, HADM 2740 , ILRID 4699 . Course fee: $30. Enrollment limited to: NSHA students. Satisfies core requirement for NSHA students. During the spring term only, this class co-meets with HADM 2740 .

Provides a foundation in information technology (IT) and how it relates to everyday business computing. Students learn IT concepts during lectures, and these concepts are reinforced in practical lab sessions using current standards of business computing. Topics include fundamental IT concepts; proficiency in Microsoft Office; understanding the issues of tool selection, standardization, and efficiency; integration of applications; and recognizing the importance of good computer management.
Outcome 1: PLO 1.1: Students will identify key issues and appropriately apply discipline principles to analyze a hospitality management solution.
Outcome 2: PLO 2.1: Students will create professional-quality written business documents.
Outcome 3: PLO 2.4: Students will demonstrate effective use of information technology.
