The use of digitally driven design tools constitutes an important skill set for future architects, designers, engineers, artists and architects. Rooted in the emergence of fab-labs and maker culture, this three-week course introduces students to the fundamentals of digital fabrication. Students will become familiar with 3D modeling, parametric design, and fabrication software through a series of hands-on workshops and tutorials. Students will fabricate their design explorations digitally using laser cutters, 3D printers, and robotic CNC machines in Cornell AAP’s state of the art fabrication shop.
