HADM 2810 - Human Resources Management Fall, Spring. 3 credits. Letter grades only (no audit).
Forbidden Overlap: due to an overlap in content, students will not receive credit for both HADM 2810 and ILRHR 2600 . Prerequisite: HADM 1150 . Enrollment limited to: NSHA students. Not open to: first-year or graduate students. Satisfies core requirement for NSHA students.

Facilitates an understanding of the policies, procedures, and systems required to attract, select, develop, and retain quality employees. Students learn about the major environmental factors that affect the HR function, including legislation, economics, and demographics. The course emphasizes HR issues and challenges that are particularly relevant to the hospitality industry. Instruction is based on lecture, discussion, and experiential activities, as well as case analysis and project work.
Outcome 1: PLO 1.1: Students will identify key issues and appropriately apply discipline principles to analyze a hospitality management solution.
Outcome 2: PLO 1.2: Students will critically evaluate a hospitality management problem and will formulate a solution based on principles from at least two management disciplines.
