Brooks School of Public Policy

Jeb E. Brooks School of Public PolicyThe Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy is where you can be part of finding solutions to the world’s most pressing problems.

These topics are the focus of our learning, our teaching, our research, and our outreach:

  • Data science and technology policy
  • Environmental and sustainability policy
  • Global security
  • Health policy
  • Politics and the economics of development
  • Race, racism, and public policy
  • Social policy

Here’s how Dean Colleen Barry describes what awaits you at Brooks: “We are building one of the nation’s preeminent schools of public policy where we embrace a shared mission to inform policymakers and other decision makers, educate future leaders and serve the greater good.”

Through our extensive public engagement programs, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others while you are a student. You will then graduate, prepared for careers in the public and private sectors and in non-profits and prepared for positions not yet imagined.

Your faculty are drawn from a range of disciplines, have diverse backgrounds, and bring a global perspective to their teaching and research. The problems confronting our world require solutions that bridge disciplines and demand creativity and collaboration. That is our approach at Brooks.

Undergraduates studying policy analysis and management and health care policy are part of the new school, joining professional students enrolled in the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs and the Sloan Program in Health Administration, as well as in the doctoral program in policy analysis and management.
