ILRHR 6995 - Expert Desktop Applications


     
Fall, Spring. 1 credit. Letter grades only.

Prerequisite: ILRHR 4699 /ILRHR 6990  or equivalent experience with instructor approval.  Enrollment limited to: 22 students, ILR Seniors and MILR students. Co-meets with ILRHR 4695

This course focuses on the use of creative analytics for decision making and data reporting as a means of solving complex business problems. The course is specifically designed to prepare students to take the Microsoft Specialist (MOS) Expert Excel Certification Test. Expert certification requires knowledge of and application skills with respect to creating scenarios, managing and sharing multiple workbooks in order to combine and use data that is stored in various files, creating advanced data validation and conditional formatting rules, using the summarizing tool of complex pivot tables to aggregate data, creating styles and designing templates, and utilizing advanced functions such as INDEX, MATCH and AVERAGEIFS as well as creating complex nested calculations.
