Spring 2022: Cicero’s Philippics – his fierce denunciations of Mark Antony delivered after the assassination of Julius Caesar – offer an insight into one of the most turbulent times in Roman – and world – history. Reading these orations with close attention to their rhetorical style and historical context reveals their political potency, leading to the death of the man who delivered them.
