This course explores the psychological and sociological foundations of communication and information technology. The course focuses on the theories from the cognitive, behavioral and social sciences that play a role in understanding people’s use of, access to and interactions with information and communication technologies. The course will examine multiple levels of analysis – individual, social, and social systems/communities – and present multiple disciplinary perspectives. The course will also provide a high-level view of methodologies used in the behavioral and social sciences.
