INFO 6750 - [Causal Inference and Design of Experiments] Fall. Not offered: 2021-2022. Next offered: 2022-2023. 3 credits. Student option grading (no audit).
R. Kizilcec.
Introductory seminar on research methods for addressing causal questions in observational and experimental settings. The course focuses on three topics: methods for causal inference (potential outcomes framework, experimental and quasi-experimental designs, matching), the design of experiments (between-/within-subjects designs, blocking, statistical power), and approaches to open science (replication, pre-registration). Students learn (i) key methodological skills for drawing credible causal conclusions from observational and (quasi-)experimental data, and (ii) how to present these scientific methods, results, and warranted conclusions.
